Vernick Food & Drink is a critical darling, and putting out some of the most technically beautiful food in Philly. But, there's plenty of soul in Greg Vernick's food, too. [Eater 38 Member]

Ingredients are the star at Greg Vernick's bi-level American spot near Rittenhouse Square. Try the "toasts" as an appetizer. You'll love everything coming out of the wood-fired oven. Read more

I dismissed the "on toast" section at first... don't. The beef tartare on toast great and I'm sure the other toast dishes are equally as enjoyable.

The easy vibe at Vernick make it one of those rare restaurants that can suit so many things: dinner with food-snob friends, cocktails with a gal pal, a meal with the non-adventurous in-laws.

Not a single bad dish on the menu. Get the uni, white cod, steak tartare, porchetta, mussels, and veal. Or anything really. You can't go wrong.

Steak tartare toast is unexpectedly good with shaved parmesan. Thai snapper special entree is worth trying but on the salty side. Uni scramble tastes like it sounds - sea flavor, scrambled egg texture

One of Rittenhouse's newest restaurants. Vernick is great if you can get a reservation for dinner - but is also a nice spot for pre-dinner drinks at the bar.

A little over-hyped. Very small menu and not many options if you don't eat meat. The appetizers and small plates are very small and over-priced. Share the seafood/shellfish roast, it's worth the price
