Charles Chen: One of only a few places in the world to have aged coffee beans. A very unique experience for coffee aficionados in an old-time setting. Very little has changed since it opened in 1948. A rare treat.
Alper Çuğun: The guy making pulling the incredibly tight espresso shots here is a true artist. The place is small but very convivial and it's easy to lose yourself there for an hour or so.
Alper Çuğun: This place offers all of the good things Scandinavia is known for: wood based interior design, excellent coffee, a wide selection of craft beer and spectacular cocktails.
Toby Phipps: Fantastic coffee, simple un-pretentious decor, lots of laptop power and fast WiFi (password = HiroshiSawada). Did I mention the incredible, smooth coffee? 2008 Seattle Latte Art champion.
Emily K.: Beautifully designed boutique hotel tucked away in a corner of Shibuya, with sustainable touches/elements throughout. The bar/lobby is a great spot for working or a chill get-together.
Benedict Terrell: Ask for the straight coffee menu if you're looking for the good stuff. The area is quiet. Peaceful atmosphere and good coffee, perfect combination. Great for chats or reading.
Gan Toy: If you want to taste what true specialty coffee is about, this should be one of your top spots in Tokyo. The proprietor, Suzuki-san, is deeply rooted in Japan's third-wave, and his passion shows.
Alper Çuğun: This is a beautiful coffee stand with splendid coffee. The location is a bit out of the way which makes it great to drink your coffee and stare out of the window.
Krishna Sivaranjan: Nice coffee shop. Small, simple, and very cute. Tucked in meguro so a bit of a walk to get to. If you buy a bag of beans you get a free coffee
Amy Graff: Great spot to go after your sushi breakfast in Tsukiji Fish Market. Enormous, silky-smooth, and affordable (Y550) triple shot lattes in a chill setting. Friendly staff and modern decor.
Jake Levine: One of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. I had one of the Steampunk brews but I’m sure you can’t go wrong. Home of numerous titles including the 2014 world barista championship.
