Tiny German spot in the East Village where we go for cheap eats and beer. All of the sausages here are great, but we love the namesake currywurst the best!

The currywurst is good, but the Kaese Krainer is amazing; I mean seriously, a cheese filled sausage??? Also have some great hot pretzels with a solid beer selection to boot. Chilled out vibe.

Decent German beer selection. Nice cozy spot to bring a friend or a small group of people. Good booth seating. Get the sausage.

Schneider Aventinus is amazing, as is the Dunkel lager. And just get a damn pretzel, they're too good not too and perfect with beer.

The currywurst has a slight, nice spiciness, more than you'd find in Germany. Down some with a glass of Schneider Weisse and get there early in the evening if you want a pretzel. They sell out.

Order the kale and congratulate yourself for eating a vegetable (albeit one with bacon in it). Then all you have to figure out is Kostritzer or Kolsch?

The Currywurst really is that good. And real German Brötchen, the original rolls. Nice selection of German beer as well. Try the Radeberger.

Get the currywurst, like two of them, get a beer, people watch, eavesdrop on some weird conversation, and kiss your boyfriend. Yeah. Yeah. Cool.

Get the Berliner Weisse. They've got both the raspberry and woodruff syrup. Very hard to come by in America.
