I have written a book about St Katharine's (neighbour to the Tower of London) from 11th century to present day. My new book will be about The Tower of London.
"The Royal Foundation of St Katharine Hospital + church were demolished in 1826 (not 1827) and it is most likely that the '11000 population' was spin to suit the planners. Accuracy is important."
"It's an incredible place to visit. Many of the 14th and 15th century relics from the original Hospital of St Katharine, destroyed in 1825, are excellently preserved in their beautiful chapel"
