    昭和天皇の御成婚記念事業として大正15年8月に起工し昭和2年10月完成。当初は鹿児島市公会堂として発足、昭和48年4月から社会教育施設としての役割と中央地域の地域公民館としての役割を担っています。夜22時までライトアップされ綺麗です。
