    【国宝】本堂脇の石段の上に立つ丹塗り(木部は朱塗り)の塔。建立は800年頃。屋外にある木造五重塔としては法隆寺塔に次ぎ2番目に古く、高16m強、初重は1辺の長さ2.5mの小型で、国宝・重要文化財指定で屋外に立つ木造五重塔としては日本最小。
