limonium staticeNovember 29, 2012辻標16番:新坂通(にいざかどおり) 新坂の北端から以北。明治末まではまっ直ぐ北山輪王寺まで通じていた。北八番丁までは侍屋敷、以北は寺屋敷、御足軽、御坊主、御職人の町であった。北七番丁から西に大願寺に通ずる広い道を大願寺通という。東北大学医学部が建ってから北四、六番丁間は中断されたが、南北の門は常に閉めない条件である。UpvoteDownvote- limonium staticeNovember 29, 2012辻標16番:新坂(にいざか) 水害で支倉橋が流されるので、元禄七年(1694)澱橋が新たに架設され、橋から支倉丁方面に通ずる道を川沿いに開き俗に弁慶岩といわれる岩崖を切って急な坂道を造った。そして北二番丁の西端(知事公館門前)までを新坂と呼んだ。坂はそれ以来幾度も切り下げられたが坂の途中の清水は古い。UpvoteDownvote
