江戸時代後期に第十代藩主大村純昌の時に大村家の別邸として建てられたのがはじまりです。明治にお城が廃城となったあとは、大村男爵家（分家）の住まいとなり、現在の建物は大正に建てられたもので、大村市の施設となっています
