    藩祖頼房の時代、御鞍打師「小野荘兵衛」作の木像を安置したことから西行堂と 名づけられましたが戦災によ焼失してしまいました。ここにある西行の歌碑は、九代斉昭の「駐歩泉」の碑にちなみ同夫人が建てたものです。
