    静御前は源義経の内妻で、文治５年９月１５日（１１８９年）久喜市伊坂（旧村名、静村）にて悲恋の死を遂げました。 その時、侍女琴柱は遺骸を当時この地にあった高柳寺（現・中田光了寺）に葬り、１本の杉の木を植えそのしるしとしました。弘化３年５月（１８４６年）利根川氾濫により枯れてしまいこの時、杉の代わりに銀杏を植えたそうです。 (久喜市栗橋観光協会HPより抜粋)

    義経を慕って平泉に赴く途上、彼の討死の報を聞いて京へ引き返すも、この地で没したという。栗橋駅のすぐ近くにあるんですね。
