For seasonal vegetables we chose pea shoots with garlic. It was a big portion & good: Well cooked with a good texture & taste. There was complementary rock melon.
Pigeon was good, with crisp skin & a succulent good flavour. It was slighty gamey but that comes with the territory. It was small but again, it's a pigeon. You're not ordering it to get full on.
Fish maw & Shredded duck soup was good though there was little fish maw. There was quite a bit of duck. The regular portion was big, filling about 6 small soup bowls
Roasted duck was pretty good with nice fat & a good roast flavour. Roasted pig was ok - a bit dry with little fat; the skin was a bit brittle, not like the more delicate crispness you get elsewhere.
I always, ALWAYS get the BBQ Pork with Rice (#12 on BBQ list). So tender, and great for white people not yet ready for real Chinese food! I think it's called "chashew phan" in Canto.
They sell roast pigeon for $22, but it's sold out by night time. They have roast goose - but only in summer & you need to pre-order the day before ($28/half, $55/whole).
This Chinese restaurant has a prominent BBQ meat counter, but their other dishes were actually better. Lean duck (pipa duck) can't be chosen in a mixed meat platter
What a dump this place is, the servers are rude and do not honour first come, first serve. The one or two times I come here for bbqtake out a year will now decrease to zero. FTP.
