    中原街道の直角にクランクした鍵の道を丸子橋方面に進むと、立派な門構えがあり、門前に旧原家母屋跡地の碑が建っている。それによると、 当家の9代目が総ケヤキ造りの母屋を1891(明治24)年から22年かけて建てたという。明治を代表する建築物で川崎市重要歴史記念物に指定されている。
