When it comes to Fall activities, apple picking is easily one of the best. Visit these popular farms in the U.S. to fill up on hot cider, donuts, and of course—pick-your-own apples!
David Rondeau: I love this place. The apple trees are great for climbing and the fresh cider donuts are amazing. It's better to come later in the season though. The line to get cider donuts is insane! About an hour!
Nicole McMullin: We visit Carter Mountain Orchard every fall to pick apples and enjoy the amazing view from the top of the mountain. Go early in October if you want to still find a lot of apples in the trees.
Glen Williams: The place is great! Large variety of apples to choose from. Best part is you dont have to pay to get in, just pay for the amount of apples you want and enjoy the day picking.
Stefanie: Awesome orchard just an hour from Chi. Go in late Sept or early Oct. Go thru the corn maze, pick your apples, drink the hot apple cider and whatever you do, do NOT skip the pumpkin glazed donuts!!!
Esther Lawrence: Love this farm and so do my kids! Bouncy houses, hayrides, light shows, apple picking, pumpkin picking, etc. for all seasons & holidays.
Holly C: Get there early to avoid the crowds and bring cash!! The orchards have a lot of apples! The line for the cider donuts goes fast so don't get discouraged!
Mike Callahan: Best place around for apple picking. Plenty of varieties, as well as Apple crisp, Apple cider, apple turnovers and a full farm stand too.
Bryan Young: We come here as a whole family every year. It's a great place to relax, have some good food, apple cider, and caramel apples! The kids love the petting zoo! Apple pie is always a must!!
Stephanie: Apple cider mini donuts are made fresh to order. Both kids and adults love to watch them fry behind the glass partition. Order an extra doze for the road!
Kathe Gonsalves: This is a great place for the entire family. Wagon ride out to choose a pumpkin, maze, animals, barn concert, store, snacks, lots of photo opps, etc.
Justin Gould: If you're gonna make apple sauce, go for a huge bags of "seconds." All the (slightly blemished) apples you need, perfect for saucing, at a fraction of the cost.
Corryn Vitek: So happy to see this place recovering from a near collapse. The nominal $2 cover is obviously going toward improvements as it gets better every year. The sunflower maze had grown adults giggling. :)
Kristine: I love this place, the cider is amazing and the donuts are just wonderful fresh and hot. Picking your own apples is very fun as well. I had a great time as usual.

Susan Hogan: Never been disappointed in the food. The apple cider (hot or cold) is fantastic, and the cornbread is great. Check out the shop as well and pick up a caramel apple.
Christee: Cute farm with speciality baked goods, apples, and pumpkins. Hayrides, hay maze, slides, a fun/haunted house, rubber duck race, and farm animals. Try their apple cider slushies!
Paige C: We love Lewin! Pick as many apples as you can! Their farm stand has delicious cider donuts and roasted corn! Their veggies are super cheap and big so we always take bags and bags home!
