I love this place. The apple trees are great for climbing and the fresh cider donuts are amazing. It's better to come later in the season though. The line to get cider donuts is insane! About an hour!

We visit Carter Mountain Orchard every fall to pick apples and enjoy the amazing view from the top of the mountain. Go early in October if you want to still find a lot of apples in the trees.

The place is great! Large variety of apples to choose from. Best part is you dont have to pay to get in, just pay for the amount of apples you want and enjoy the day picking.

Awesome orchard just an hour from Chi. Go in late Sept or early Oct. Go thru the corn maze, pick your apples, drink the hot apple cider and whatever you do, do NOT skip the pumpkin glazed donuts!!!

Get there early to avoid the crowds and bring cash!! The orchards have a lot of apples! The line for the cider donuts goes fast so don't get discouraged!
Best place around for apple picking. Plenty of varieties, as well as Apple crisp, Apple cider, apple turnovers and a full farm stand too.
Try the apple slushies!! And go ahead, buy a dozen of donuts. You'll end up walking off the calories while picking apples.
Apple cider mini donuts are made fresh to order. Both kids and adults love to watch them fry behind the glass partition. Order an extra doze for the road!
This is a great place for the entire family. Wagon ride out to choose a pumpkin, maze, animals, barn concert, store, snacks, lots of photo opps, etc.
If you're gonna make apple sauce, go for a huge bags of "seconds." All the (slightly blemished) apples you need, perfect for saucing, at a fraction of the cost.
So happy to see this place recovering from a near collapse. The nominal $2 cover is obviously going toward improvements as it gets better every year. The sunflower maze had grown adults giggling. :)

Never been disappointed in the food. The apple cider (hot or cold) is fantastic, and the cornbread is great. Check out the shop as well and pick up a caramel apple.
Cute farm with speciality baked goods, apples, and pumpkins. Hayrides, hay maze, slides, a fun/haunted house, rubber duck race, and farm animals. Try their apple cider slushies!
We love Lewin! Pick as many apples as you can! Their farm stand has delicious cider donuts and roasted corn! Their veggies are super cheap and big so we always take bags and bags home!
Tons of things to do, great orchard, food, pumpkin patch, and kids activities. Awesome beer garden and food trucks too!
