This is one of the nicest airports in the world—definitely worth slowly making your way to immigration so you can see how decadent and comfortable they've designed the space (pool, gym, hotels, etc.).
The service was super friendly and the breakfast in the morning was good. Very convenient to the MRT and bay without paying a premium for either.
This is bougie as fuck but you're 10,000 miles from home and the view is outrageous. Just do it. (But drinks are expensive so don't go crazy.)
Architecturally erratic but incredibly luxurious. The rooftop pool is killer but you cannot get in without a key.
Fantastic cocktail bar in Orchard—must go. Super friendly staff, great music, great drinks and bar food.
Go to the bar (roof)—breezy and a great view of the bay and MBS light show. Happy Hour ends at 8PM.
GET. CASH. Otherwise, have fun. Many desserts have beans so tread cautiously.
Tickets are about USD 25 (I think) and I do think it's worth it. If you're coming from the United States, you'll notice a lot of familiar plants. Don't forget: you're in Southeast Asia.
PS.Cafe is a chain in Singapore but the food is delicious. It's a French restaurant with SEA twists. Pricey so pick with care. You MUST get truffle fries and key lime pie.
Buy tickets online before you go; otherwise, check out the public spaces. The south wing is the old Singapore court house.
Cool store with great clothing (think A.P.C., Maison Kitsuné, DW, etc.), accessories, and miscellaneous design items.
It's a mix of a museum (there's a retrospective on Singapore design commemorating the country's 50th anniversary on the second floor), workshop (maker lab in the atrium), and event space. Neat.
I didn't make it to Sentosa but it's worth seeing what manufactured fun looks like.
I didn't make it onto the ECP either but Singapore has a huge network of public (for a fee) bikes. Get one and ride down the ECP at sunset. The beach is nice but the vendors make the experience.
