Allie Wojtaszek: Public park in the middle of the city along the river - great for BBQ's, picnics and walking. You can skate in the winter and rent paddle boats in the summer.
Allie Wojtaszek: If you love shopping in neat little stores, grabbing refreshments along the way and public art then a visit to Whyte Ave is a must! Plan enough time to walk and visit the shops you want!

Allie Wojtaszek: Beautiful new public library, wonderful atmosphere inside the building, great area for kids, an outside garden/reading space and a bench where you can sit beside Lois Hole.
Allie Wojtaszek: Take the dog for a walk in an off leash area that allows you to enjoy some quiet park space along Edmonton's River Valley in the middle of the city.
Allie Wojtaszek: About a 45 minute drive from Edmonton, Elk Island is an oasis of peace. Wildlife like Buffalo, Moose, Elk, Beavers, Coyotes, Wolves, etc can be seen from the car or hiking trails. Take a lunch!
