Visiting New Orleans for the first time? Here are some things you MUST do, places you MUST try, and foods you just HAVE TO eat.
1. Emeril's
Amanda W: Get a seat overlooking the kitchen - it's great entertainment while you wait for your food!
2. Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World
Amanda W: Bring a camera! Excellent photo-ops next to old Mardi Gras floats and new in-progress ones! Definitely worth a trip!
3. Drago's Seafood
Amanda W: Best Charbroiled Oysters in New Orleans!
4. The Swamp
Amanda W: Just some nightly "Cupid Shufflin'"...
5. Commander's Palace
Amanda W: Classy upscale establishment with chandeliers and everything. Try the turtle soup with sherry!
6. Café du Monde
Amanda W: Beignets with powdered sugar and chicory coffee. 'Nuff said.
7. Bourbon Street Balcony
Amanda W: Where else can you see the best of Bourbon Street?!??
8. Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar
Amanda W: Best Charbroiled Oysters right off of Bourbon Street - what more can you ask for?
9. Canal Street Streetcar
Amanda W: Feels like your back in the day rolling through New Orleans!
10. Tropical Isle Original
Amanda W: Hand Grenade!! One of those places you gotta go to and one of those cups you need as a souvenir from Bourbon Street.
11. Stanley
Amanda W: Excellent breakfast. Plus they're open crazy early it the morning which makes it a perfect stop before an early flight home!
