Delhi is an excellent city for foodies. Finding good, authentic cuisine can be hard though. Here's a compilation of some of the best, most authentic restaurants and bars in the National Capital Region
M 40, M-Block Market, Greater Kailash II (Near Standard Chartered Bank), New Delhi, Delhi
French Restaurant · 4 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: The signature dish is the pork belly with apple cider and potato mash. It tastes excellent: the outer skin of the pork is crispy, and the pork with combination of mash and cider is delightful.
H 5 & 6, Plaza Building, Middle Circle, Connaught Place (Opposite Castle 9 (Inner Lane)), New Delhi, Delhi
Indian Restaurant · 67 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: One of the underrated things about this place are the desserts. The gajar / roghani halwa are to die for; you can actually taste the ghee in them.
Paranthe Wali Gali (Opposite Natraj Bhalla Corner), Delhi, Delhi
Indian Restaurant · Chandni Chowk · 10 tips and reviews
anshul tula: Serving various varities including aloo, gobi, muli, bananas, etc which are fried in oil rather than traditional way of making on tawa. Can take heavy toll on stomach so come prepared..!!!
D 14, 3rd Flr., South Extension 2 (Next to Croma Retail), New Delhi, Delhi
Chinese Restaurant · 5 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Probably one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Delhi. The decor is fabulous, and the unlimited dimsum deal is totally worth it (as long as you want to experience authentic Chinese cuisine).
S 16, Green Park Extension Market (Near Uphar Cinema Complex), New Delhi, Delhi
Japanese Restaurant · 9 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Unless you are adventurous, for the average Delhiite palate many of the noodle dishes can seem bland. My recommendation for them would be "in a bowl" meals in the mains section - usually have gravy.
Ankur Banerjee: Good example of Asian fusion cuisine done right. Much of the menu leans towards a fusion of Japanese and Thai cuisines rather than Chinese, but in terms of authenticity they get it very right.
Ankur Banerjee: By far the best place in NCR to get good burgers. Not much choice with whether you can get rare/medium/well-done (because it's always well done), but worth the price.
Ankur Banerjee: One of the better places in Delhi to have a burger. They do it more towards medium than the usual charred hunk of meat. Nice and cosy place.
M 84, M Block Market, Greater Kailash 2 (Near Domino's Pizza), New Delhi, Delhi
Indian Restaurant · 7 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Portions are large and paranthas are heavy. Go easy when ordering - it's easy to end up with too much food on your table! Nice ambiance. Also, service charge (10%) is already included in your bill.
Arjun Ahuja: Beautiful rooftop & very comfortable ambiance. Delightful service and easy on the pockets. Food is above average but not great, but good for a drinking night out with friends and/or family!
2nd Floor, 50A, Hauz Khas Village (Hauz Khas), New Delhi, Delhi
Tibetan Restaurant · 49 tips and reviews
Megha Girish: The place has a cozy ambience & seems to have a varied menu covering Nepalese, Tibetan & Bhutanese cuisines. Everything we tried was delicious - especially loved the momos and dry chilli chicken.
Ground Floor, Epicuria Food Mall, Nehru Place (Nehru Place Metro Station), New Delhi, Delhi
Lounge · 16 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Probably one of the best bar decors in Delhi. I love the work they have done with their menu too. Very reasonable food and drink prices too!
B 45, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi, Delhi
Asian Restaurant · 9 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Quite possibly one of the best places to eat European food in Connaught Place. While not exactly authentic, it's a very good fusion of European food. Service is always top-notch.
Ankur Banerjee: This is indeed an expensive place for the portions you get, but good European restaurants *always* give measured portions. Pork chops are above average, the carpaccio is amazing, service is excellent.
G 68, Outer Circle, Connaught Place (Opposite Alka Hotel), New Delhi, Delhi
Whisky Bar · 23 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Cheapest drink prices at a bar in Delhi. This CP branch is far less shady than the Paharganj branch. If you have a mixed group then prefer sitting in the couples area because it's a lot less noisy.
K 2, Middle Circle, Connaught Place (Near PVR Plaza), New Delhi, Delhi
Bar · 65 tips and reviews
Ankur Banerjee: Excellent ambiance and happy hour 1+1 is a good deal. No way to miss the life-size Bumblebee Transformer bot near the entrance either! The decor's cool.
294, Satyaniketan Market, Satyaniketan (Near Venkateshwara College), New Delhi, Delhi
Dumpling Restaurant · 21 tips and reviews
Aditi Malhotra: You might want to order the Tandoori Momos, but you must go beyond them and order some Mughlai as well. The Malai Tikka is so good. Not too hot on Chinese though.
Ankur Banerjee: The khade chammach ki chai is a tea cup full of SO much sugar that a spoon put inside can stand straight up. If you drink the entire thing, it's free!
Ankur Banerjee: This has a quaint, old-school feel to it since it's a government-run restaurant. The staff is not that attentive, food is poor (for the price), and the decor is ancient. However, the view is worth it.
