Take a walk along beach then have dinner around sunset at the restaurant at Castaways Resort.
Great balconies.. love the sun beds and the view! Plan to eat in the restaurant at least one night, time it just before sunset.
Real tropical beach north of Cairns - lots to do.. kayak, jet ski or just get a tan with all the other backpackers.
Go for a walk along the beach at sunrise. The sand is so firm you can ride a bike on it.
Grab a beer at the bar before 5pm and watch them feed George the Groper, then enjoy a great seafood meal while you watch the sun set over the water.
Go for a guided kayak trip to Double Island, or just have lunch at one of the great restaurants along the beach.
At low tide, when snorkelling on the shallow reef off the beach you can sometimes see turtles. On high tide, book a sailing lesson and hire a catamaran. Its easy to learn.
Go for the ocean view rooms, request an upper level... its worth paying a bit extra for.
Closest thing to a beach in Cairns... great place to catch some sun and cool off for a dip in town...
