African Restaurant · Kreuzberg · 4 tips and reviews
Doug Wieand: My favorite place to go to for a Sudanese Falafel (falafel with peanut sauce, will take over a Doner any day!). Think this place beats out Sahara Imbiss - $
Turkish Restaurant · Wedding · 30 tips and reviews
Doug Wieand: Going to wade into the whole kebab debate with this hot take for best kebab. Reasoning: this is the only place I've been to so far where you can actually order the kebab without sauce - $
Fried Chicken Joint · Reuterkiez · 31 tips and reviews
Doug Wieand: Legendary Berlin fast-food chicken institution. Get a whole chicken for two (skip the fried - it's good but the rotisserie is the main draw) - $
Doug Wieand: Massive Vietnamese wholesale complex with restaurants. My favorite is the stand that does banh cuon. It should be roughly at this pin: https://goo.gl/maps/3enRKtU1jYhhozUW7
Noodle Restaurant · Friedrichstadt · 37 tips and reviews
Doug Wieand: Hole-in-the wall Sichuan noodle spot , gets busy at lunch but worth the wait. Randomly in the middle of the most touristy part of town. - $
Doug Wieand: Hole in the wall bar run by Italians that just happens to serve outstanding seafood pasta (or they did pre-pandemic, probably worth checking) - $$
Doug Wieand: Italian opinion aside, my favorite pizza in the city. Nice place to eat, friendly service, sourdough crust. Must get: olive oil soft serve. $$
Doug Wieand: Craft beer institution, loads of beers on tap and an unexpectedly creative menu. Go in summer when you can hang out in the garden after dinner - $$
Doug Wieand: Owned by Rutz (only 3 Michelin Star restaurant in the city). Incredibly deep wine list, excellent service and execution. Expect elevated German classics, steak is good but mains are better value $$$
Doug Wieand: Go in the summer if you can get a reservation by the water; just solid food but worth it for the setting. Get a drink in the complex before and after - $$$
