Tansy: the molasses sugar in espresso is awesome. All the coffee in NZ is excellent, but this is my favorite.
Tansy: Check out the seals on your way out, and hopefully the albatross cam will be on again this year: http://www.doc.govt.nz/royalcam
Tansy: Not specifically this glow worm cave, but any you get a chance to go to. Glow worms are amazeballs :) (NZ doesnt have fireflies, so this is what we got instead)
Tansy: Go see St Patricks - the giant run down old wooden church behind the pub. It belongs to my family and it's basically our summer home. St Patricks, by Architect R.A. Lawson. Go figure.
Tansy: While you're in Lawrence, the walk to the upper dam is wonderful. Great waterfall and picnic spot at the top.
Tansy: Great cozy bar in the middle of town. Get the beer battered fries with gravy and say Hi to the humpty dumpty looking guy (Brian) he works at Cadbury's and can hook you up.
Tansy: This is why everything smells like chocolate. The three story chocolate waterfall is frankly underwhelming, but the rest of the tour is pretty cool, and loads of chocolate :) My mum's first job was packing pinky bars in this place.
Tansy: Southern most town in mainland NZ. Cold and windy. Great fish and chips. If you're into oysters, bluff oysters are the best in the world (according to kiwis, anyway)
Tansy: You'll see a bunch of the same folks playing live in the Octagon thu-sat nights, but they're usually drunker and more fun at the muso's club.
