In the year 2000, this arena was “Upset Central,” as it saw Kenyon Martin’s No. 2 Cincinnati and Michael Redd’s No. 3 Ohio State both lose during the second round of the tourney.

This is the first time CONSOL has hosted the NCAA Tournament, but across the street in the old "Igloo", the #15 Coppin State Eagles knocked off #2 South Carolina in 1997.
The 2005 NCAA Final Four was played in this building with the UNC Tar Heels beating Deron Williams & Illinois. The MVP? UNC's Sean May ... who's currently playing overseas in Italy.

The Coliseum hosted the 1974 Final Four. In-state North Carolina State beat Marquette in the final. This was also the last Tournament to be restricted to conference champions.
2012 is the first year the NCAA Tournament will be played in this building. It’s also the first time the Tournament will be in Louisville since Freedom Hall played host in ’91.
The last time the Final Four was hosted at the Superdome was in 2003 when the ‘Cuse Orangemen lead by the Most Outstanding Player and freshman, Carmelo Anthony took down the Kansas Jayhawks, 81-78. Read more.

This place will host the 2011-2013 “First Four” games. It also holds the distinction of hosting the most number of NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games of any venue.
In ‘04, this place saw UCONN come out the Phoenix Region to take home the ‘ship. Calhoun’s squad beat up everyone. Their closest game here was the Regional Final against Alabama, winning by ONLY 16.
