HISTORY: This is the first lighthouse established by the new territorial American Government in 1824. During WWII the Coast Guard trained in St. Augustine & used the lighthouse as a lookout for enemy vessels.
Liz A.: An absolute MUST see if in St Augustine! Plan to spend 3+ hours in there! Also, DO NOT eat before going, there are quite a few exhibits that might induce vomiting in the weak stomached.

Daniel Williams: I walked down the street and touched the outside walls of the foundation. You can tell that it's an old house, it was built between 1803 and 1817. St. Augustine was founded in 1565!
