The Elms is the coolest of the mansions I saw in Newport. It is a must see. Very real, I could actually envision the people living and partying here.
Only the fireplaces and chandeliers are original to the home, but the ballroom and staircase are what makes it worthy to visit. No audio tours, but scheduled guided ones.
A wonderful walk through history for adults and kids to enjoy and learn!! I highly recommend this place as a stop while in Newport. Remember to leave a donation, please!!

When you get to the end of the steps, go onto the rocks and around the base of the staircase to find a cool alcove in the rocks - and a great spot for a group photo.
