Josh 🌶☢: Always fresh and local, never frozen. If you have never had poke before get whatever the special is and the shoyu poke. This is the place I dream about coming back to.
Josh 🌶☢: The shave ice here is superior. If you haven't been before, chose one of the "employee combos" written on the wall. Little kids: rainbow. Adults: try something new: Li hi mui, lychee, mai tai, etc.
Josh 🌶☢: GREAT tidal pools for little ones, some shady spots under trees, plenty of parking, picnic benches. No safe place to ride the waves as far as I could tell.
Josh 🌶☢: Buying a pound of the mac nut mocha beans and having it in the room every morning is part of our island tradition. Wonderful coffee. Buy 3 lbs or more and ship it home for free!
Josh 🌶☢: One of the best playgrounds in the US, much more Kona. Shade, restrooms, parking, well-maintained equipment, water fountains. Our 4-yr old got some needed play time and played with some local kids.
Mark Fairweather: Hidden away in a strip mall on Alli Dr just north of Splasher's. Great Asian/Island Fusion with a New Zealand twist (the chef is from NZ). Try the combination Sate's.
Steve Poland: Samples of chocolate peaberries (coffee beans fyi) are avail, just ask. Note: 5-6 of these little guys equates to 1 cup of coffee! Good stuff. Great tour.

Josh 🌶☢: The only restaurant with their own fleet of 7 boats and a 2-ton fish crane to unload fish straight to the kitchen. Get the fish and be nice to Fish, the resident cat.
Josh 🌶☢: If you are just visiting the island, great place to work out - they have daily and weekly prices. Bring a towel from the hotel room to save $2.
