The middle of June is a great time to visit the town as the Beltane Festival is on. There is also an Arts festival in Aug/Sept every year.
Fantastic little riverside walk into the town centre. Usually there is a heron or two about. Just be careful where you walk as people walk their dogs here too and rarely clear up afterwards.
Part of Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh this makes for a scenic outing. Something to see every season. Open daily Feb to Nov. Also has gift shop, studio and cafe.
Great place for quiet walks in the trees. Several different walks on offer with varying strenuousness. Fantastic views and even a fort!
