San Francisco doesn't have a large Koreatown like LA but it does have some good Korean grub, if you know where to look. As I hunt the streets of San Francisco, I'll share the gems on this list.
4128 Geary Blvd (between 5th Ave & 6th Ave), San Francisco, CA
Korean Restaurant · Inner Richmond · 53 tips and reviews
Tammy Quackenbush: Brothers is not a fancy restaurant, but it has a 20-plus year reputation (since 1987) of serving up authentic "old school" Korean food.
Korean Restaurant · Lower Nob Hill · 88 tips and reviews
Tammy Quackenbush: Authentic Korean pub grub with Korean Fried Chicken, which featured a subtle hint of Korean curry powder in the thin, crispy crust. Yum!
101 Spear St (inside Rincon Center), San Francisco, CA
Korean Restaurant · Financial District · 10 tips and reviews
Tammy Quackenbush: This Sorabol food stall had the longest line in the food court. I recommend the kalbi and grilled mackarel. Pick and chose some banchan, for your "salad plate" too.
4 Embarcadero Ctr (near Embarcadero Drive), San Francisco, CA
Korean Restaurant · Financial District · 34 tips and reviews
Tammy Quackenbush: Perfect place to go for lunch if you find yourself near the Ferry Building. Don't turn down the kimbap! The japchae is really good. If you're in the mood for a fusion spin, try a bulgogi sandwic.
101 The Embarcadero (Embarcadero), San Francisco, CA
Street Food Gathering · Financial District · 28 tips and reviews
Tammy Quackenbush: Namu closed their signature restaurant in the Inner Richmond but they still show their stuff at the Ferry Building during the Thursday Farmers market. Get their Korean tacos and/or Okonomyaki. :)
