In the summer watch the sunset from the top of Ullanlinnanmäki. In the winter check out the times to go stargazing at the Ursa observatory.
If you have the chance to get there early, do so around 8~ am or if late, around sunset time: in the morning to avoid all tourist commotion and at sunset time because you get a splendid view.

Suomenlinna is the only UNESCO World Heritage site around the Helsinki capital region. Come here for a lovely picnic and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
The best view is actually hidden - if you go North-East just behind where the boats are being held during the winter, you will see a very romantic sunset.
Proper Naples style pizza with the fluffy thick border (be prepared). Ingredients were fresh and tasty. The place is very casual. Note: the oven is unfortunately powered by gas and not firewood.

A great hipster place in kallio. A bit pricier than other kebabs in the neighbourhood, but this place offers restaurant quality plates and service. My favourite is the lamb kebab plate ;)
Tasty sandwiches, not many beers but each of them good. Nam Jim salad is spicy and delicious!
Go for the culture and beer, not the bar/restaurant food. :) There is a Sushibar & Wine though in the building. Note that you can take drinks inside for most culture events!

Really good crispy burgerish sandwiches, nice wines, beer & tea. Make sure to head here for their live jazz tuesdays once a month.

These are likely the absolute best burgers in town. Awesome, medium cooked patties with a loose, juicy texture. The beef is excellent. Recommended. Add a second patty if you're really hungry.
Very good, a small and intimate place. Very helpfull staff (owners), tapas style food. Enjoyable and easy going place! Reservation is recommended, very popular. Reasonably priced, and a also dog! :)
Come here for a nice run and exercise or just walk and enjoy the beautiful bay and all the flowers and wild animals living here.

The building is outstanding. There is a lot of tables and seats. It seems like the menu is not there yet. It would be nice to have warm options in the near future.
Almost like a secret day spa in the middle of city centre! I really recommend to try 2nd floor cabinet and three saunas. Women's days at mo, we, fri and su.
