Charles Chen: 3 words: Shio Yuzu Ramen. Mindblowingly delicious and unique. Umami-rich chicken broth base combined with a herbaceous, citrus note from the Yuzu is married flawlessly with thin Hakata-style noodles.
Emily K.: Come during off hours to avoid lineup. Get one of each gyoza (boiled and pan-fried, with and without garlic and chives) and cucumber with miso.
Prashant Patel: Tomoyo (owner) is great! She speaks English and is very friendly. Grab a seat at the bar. Have a whiskey and chat about movies. She's got an impressive clientele (including Quentin Tarantino).
Juston Payne: Phenomenally intimate bar in a phenomenally cool area. Both the sake and whisky were fantastic, as was the conversation with other patrons. If you're having trouble finding it, look for this sign.
DHR.com: Waking up early is worth it for this wholesale fish market. Have a sushi breakfast, or if you’re not buying anything, just watch the activities unfold. Take the Hibiya Line, then Exit 1 in Tsukiji.
Jon Steinback: Go at the crack of dawn (like a bit before 5.30am) any day for the tuna auction, get a bowl of tuna sashimi at a stall, and then go take a nap at the hamarikyu botanical gardens nearby.
George Joseph: Get here well before 4:30am to see the tuna auctions. Note: Trains don't run at this time + they only take a limited amount of people so getting here earlier is better. Once in a lifetime experience!
