Markus Aarstad: A Pest institution, this spacious café has been serving coffee and cakes since 1858. It seats 330 in its theatrically gilded and swagged interior, making it one of the biggest cafés in Europe.
Markus Aarstad: Look out for the specials written on a huge roll of brown paper fixed to the wall: delicious salads with grilled goat's cheese, and rakott burgonya, a dish of smoked sausage, potatoes and sour cream.
