Leyton, Leytonstone, Waltham Wanstead and Woodford
Created by Maxwell Logan Updated On: November 5, 2021
Border of London on the edge of West Essex, I grew up round here and recently the area has seen loads of worthy food openings regularly. Here's my locals guide
487 High Rd Leytonstone, London, Greater London, Greater London
Italian Restaurant · Waltham Forest · 4 tips and reviews
Maxwell Logan: Fresh pasta daily, Italian classics, traditional Sardinian dishes, fine wines, excellent service, pleasant setting. A local gem is born. Reviewed by food blog Bitten & Written and the Standard too.
French Restaurant · Snaresbrook · 14 tips and reviews
Maxwell Logan: Not one for fancy French cuisine usually but for high-quality dining out in the area it's difficult to top Provender. Menu has more hits than misses and very reasonably priced.
Ben Robra: Fantastic local gem. Great wine and cheeses. Bread is absolutely gorgeous. The service is very friendly and will help you with your selection.
Maxwell Logan: You'll need to book a week in advance but you won't regret it. Fantastic authentic dishes, wine and lovely friendly service. Highly recommended
Maxwell Logan: The roast beef on a Sunday can't be beaten locally although the buttermilk chicken puts up a good fight. Please don't come here I want it all to myself
4-5 Station Approach, George Lane, London, Greater London
Sushi Restaurant · Church End · 1 tip
Maxwell Logan: The salmon nigiri, avo & salmon maki, and spider rolls (ask them not to put the sauce on the top) are all fantastic. If you deviate from that list don't be surprised if you're not in love with it...
Maxwell Logan: Chipolatas and Inexpensive free range eggs makes a breakfast alright. Weekly lunchtime hot-food counter serves a huge portion (could fill two people) and is delicious. Pates and pies are also awesome
