Megan McNeill: Built in 1891, this riverfront landmark was designed by famed Chicago architects Burnham and Root. A local group is working to save the long-neglected Romanesque Revival structure.
Megan McNeill: Keokuk's largest city park is home to a variety of events, including the Civil War Reenactment, City of Christmas light and decoration display, and Fourth of July celebration.
Megan McNeill: Many a dance recital, Great River Players production and concert has graced the stage of the Grand Theatre since it was restored in the late '80s and early '90s. So glad we didn't lose this gem.
Megan McNeill: Built in 1859 by Samuel F. Miller, appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court by Abraham Lincoln in 1862. He served until his death in 1890. Houses a museum owned/operated by the Lee Co. Historical Society.
