Troy Henikoff's BIP 394 Entrepreneurship course was taught at University Hall Thursday nights Winter Quarter. David Hoffman, Samir Rayani and I took this class January to March of 2008.
Next Big Sound won the Best Undergrad Pitch at the '08 competition ($1,500 cash prize!). We used $500 to incorporate as an LLC in IL and $1000 paying a contractor to build version 1.0 of the site.

After our final Entrepreneurship class at NU (my last undergrad class) the Next Big Sound team split a tower of Blue Moon and made a pact to do NBS full time over the summer if we could raise $30,000.
iVentures10 invested $25,000 and we moved down to Champaign (3rd and Chalmbers) for the summer. We had to dissolve the IL LLC and become a DE C-Corporation. We launched thenextbigsound.com in August.
First NBS office in Chicago was a shared co-working space in the loop. Also the site of our first advisory board meeting with Troy, John Hamilton, and Kunal Modi to decide the future of the company.
Next Big Sound applied in 2008 and got rejected. We reapplied next year and got in. Best thing that ever happened to the company. Read more.

NBS presented here with other Techstars teams in 2009. We crashed with friends in SF and woke up at 5am to train down. Second time meeting Jeff Clavier and where he offered to invest.
