Air Force Academy became a reality on April 1, 1954, when then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill establishing the academy. It is one of the most popular attractions in Colorado Springs.
Established in 1874 as a coeducational institution two years before Colorado became a state, CC is known for its unique block plan and excellence in academics.
The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center building, designed by architect John Gaw Meem, opened its doors for business on April 20, 1936.
