It is Papua New Guinea's capital and it is experiencing growing pains. But there are some places that are worth your time to explore in this tropical harbor city.
Randy: This place is tough to find but is a hidden gem. They offer Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese ... basically anything that could be even remotely considered Asian.

Randy: Up on the 2nd floor of Vision City Mall is that large Asian restaurant that showcases regional seafood dishes. If you can score one of the private rooms, jump on it. Barramundi for the win!
Randy: It may be categorized as a pizza place, but this is essentially the best casual dining option in Port Moresby. They serve Kiwi-style burgers, outstanding seafood and even have poolside dining.
Randy: Gorgeous marina and the private club has a terrific restaurant that offers indoor dining as well as service out on the deck overlooking the yachts.
Randy: This is the restaurant with the awesome views over the airport at Airways Hotel. In addition to their buffets, they serve up some terrific steaks, seafood and pizza.

Randy: Gorgeous garden located on the campus of the University of Papua New Guinea. In addition to the flora & fauna outside, you absolutely must check out incredible collection of orchids in greenhouses.
Randy: Not your typical hotel restaurant. Inside the Lamana, you can eat in the dining room or out under the covered patio that overlooks Gold Club disco. Menu is odd mix of Greek, Italian, Seafood & Indian.
Randy: For better or worse, this is the primary shopping venue in Port Moresby. It has a large RH Hypermarket that is like a mini-Walmart or Target. It also features a half dozen restaurants & tight security
