People complain that only Americans go there, but the food is good and it's loaded with history. A bit fancy, perhaps best for dinner.
The lunch prix fixe is good and cheap. The decor's very old. Those little niches are where regulars kept their napkins back in the nineteenth century.
The food's okay, but the place is very old (check the upstairs room).But you can sit outside and the view is gorgeous. DO NOT order the"Andouillette." Never, EVER order "Andouillette."
For your fancy food shopping. Like take-out from the "Charcuteries" and desserts from the Boulangeries and Patisseries.
It's a cafe, so you can expect food at any number of hours into the evening. The waiters are surly as hell but the Boeuf Bourguignon is the best I've ever tasted.
Go to the wine section and pick up a bottle or two of whatever is rock-bottom cheap and on sale, especially if it looks as though almost all the bottles are gone.
