If you are staying on our holiday village you can avoid the busy A470 by cycling up past the Rhiw Goch Inn turning and taking the national Cycle Route 8 down into the Forest.
Park at the visitor centre and walk to the dam to take in the views. Alternatively park at the cafe and take a walk the other way along the lake.

Great little steam railway for kids. It's only a short trip on the train, but plenty of time to climb on the exhibits in the Museum. Keep an eye out for their special events during school holidays.
