Trina Beana: Okay wooded place to walk for being in Fort Wayne. A lot of the local kids use this place. For example; graffiti, chair in a tree, aero soft pellets, empty energy drink cans.
Trina Beana: Pretty place to walk, ideally in the fall. Maple, Hickory, Apple and Cedar trees. It's a bummer it sits close to I69 but we seen a deer on the trails.
Trina Beana: On land once owned by the author, Gene Stratton Porter. Ruins of the Brushwood School House are out front and mentioned in Porter's book, "Girl of the Limberlost". Historic Limberlost Swamp was here.
Trina Beana: Make sure to check out some of Hy Goldenberg's outhouse collection. Hy donated 41 acres of his property to the state in 1995 for the preserve. Most of his collection is at the Huntington Hist. Society
Trina Beana: This park was started in 2012 so a lot of the paths are not well defined and are unmarked. It could be easy to get lost if not paying attention. Two small ponds and some remnants from the old farm.
