16 December 1977: The Piccadilly Line extension to Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 is opened by the Queen, providing the cheapest way of travelling to the airport from central London (just 80p at the time)
The station is split into two buildings opposite each other on the highstreet with the District and PiccadilyLines together and the Hammersmith and City Lines in the other. It's a quick and easy walk
The two Hammersmith Underground Station are separate, and not linked. Walking distance exiting from the Broadway Shopping Mall isn't far, however crossing two busy main roads can take some time.
Th toilets cost 50p to use! Also, the Uxbridge/Rayners Lane trains come around every 7-10 mins whereas there are ate least 4 heathrowtrains every ten minutes! Ridiculous..
