On the weekends this place fills up for picnics with rosé. Climb to the top and take in the views or watch Karl the Fog roll in from down below.
It's always fun to visit during the day, but one of the best ways to experience the park in summer is to have an evening picnic. The crowds leave as you arrive and pretty soon you have it to yourself.

Great Sunday drum circle, but there's always something else going on! The park is designed well, so there are more secluded places if you want to be alone, and more open spots if you're in a group!
There's a Publix across the street. Perfect for getting lunch and having lunch overlooking the lake.
Great views of the city and acres of park space. Parking can be a little difficult on really nice days, so come early!
Its 1.75 miles of paved walkway is excellent for a leisurely stroll, and being less crowded than Waikiki Beach means you can enjoy the beach without being in anyone's way.
Nice, beautiful 2 mile loop with a cool view of the sky line. Go at night to admire the lit up bridge!
The "Dog Pond" behind the hill is cool and a great place to catch tadpoles. Farther down the trail is a nice little creek. There's frogs and water skippers in it and it's great to picnic by.
Get a picnic blanket and sit out under the sky for a concert. Nice setup buried in millennium park just east of the water walls.
The place is just beautiful! The outdoors are lovely! Just go, grab a bottle of their wine and sit and enjoy the greenery. Perfect for a date!
The TeePee Pavilion on Bonnycastle Hill is a Louisville landmark! This unique whimsical piece of architecture is pretty special and a must-see if you visit Cherokee Park. (And you really should!)
I was really impressed by two things: the size of the park (like Central Park in NYC) and the park of statues inside!
Boston Common is a quiet place to visit and being relax. It is bordered by Beacon Hill, the Public Garden and downtown.
Great park with a paved trail for biking, walking and running. It also has many picnic spots and many playgrounds for kids. It has a basketball, tennis and volleyball court. Plus clean bathrooms.
Truly beautiful landscape and ocean views. The lighthouse is iconic and unique. A must visit spot for all Portland tourists.

The little grotto and tunnel area is a beautiful, family friendly place to take pictures. Children are especially interested in the mini waterfall, fountains, and the creek.
This is the best Beach for families - check out the playgrounds and picnic areas before settling in near the ocean! Tide-pools allow for crab/lobster hunting during low tide - fun for kids!

This park had something for every body - a dog park, a community garden, a skate park, picnic areas, a farmers market and basketball court. Great place - a haven in the city!

Edgewater is a great kept secret. The sand is smooth, the water calm, and you have an amazing view. There are grills and picnic tables for public use too. LOVE it here, especially evenings!
This is one of Tulsa's best loved parks, and it's easy to see why. It's so beautiful and serene. There is no place in Tulsa better suited for picnics.

Absolutely love this park. It's huge & has off leash areas for your dog. Great place to bring a picnic as well! Lots of restaurants near by and even trails to go for a run/bike ride on!
They should film a reality show called "Extreme Picnicking" here. People bring everything from full grills to PA systems and furniture on the weekends.
EXCELLENT venue to see live performances. Bring a picnic lunch/dinner, including adult bevs, spread out your blanket and just chill. Well worth the drive from DC and MD for the experience.
The sunsets on Lake Champlain are always beautiful. There are nice benches and other places to sit under trees to watch.
Awesome spot for a sunset picnic, fireworks on Fourth of July, watching people fire dance, and having an any-weather bonfire under the covered pavilion.
Bring your swimsuit, hiking shoes, and a picnic backpack and you'll be all set for a day of fun and adventures! This is now one of our favorite family getaways.
The views alone are gorgeous. Definitely an amazing picnic site. There is a small playground and some hiking. Some people get married there. It's free so I would definitely recommend it to people.
