Great Sunday drum circle, but there's always something else going on! The park is designed well, so there are more secluded places if you want to be alone, and more open spots if you're in a group!
A very large park by DC standards with an upper and lower area connected by a staircase. Come in warm months to see the waterfallfountain. Some cool statues including a neat one of Joan of Arc.
Every Sunday afternoon, weather permitting, starting around 3pm, men and women of all ages and ethnicities gather for an hours-long impromptu jam session. Anyone can participate. Read more

This park has a sad, haunting beauty. It could be much more than it is. The layout and fountains are pretty and pleasing to the eye. The human and dog feces are a reminder that this is no urban oasis.

Go in the spring/summer for the great drum circle. Nice view of the nation's capital. Nice place in the city for a picnic.Waterfall and fountain is unique.
Harriet Lane, Buchanan’s neice, left funds in her will for this monument. The bronze statue, unveiled in 1930, is 8 ft tall & designed by William Gordon Beecher. Watch this video for more history. Read more
