Did the feed me menu and they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Eggplant and mushrooms were amazing. Service was pretty sporadic and the queue was quite long, even with a reservation
Despite a rather lackluster experience noted in a separate post the Sake Flight was great and the guy who served them provided a good explanation of Sake quality/production with a lot of passion.
We had a few share plates for Valentine’s Day. Great service and vibe at Akiba. We really loved the Japanese Fried Chicken, the steamed buns and the Lychee martini.
Pork belly bun is amazing! And the dumplings as well. However the mains we asked were super ok. The prawn fried rice is full of a too much grilled rice and just few prawns.
The harpuka sashimi, kingfishsashimi and misoeggplant were standouts. Didn’t like the pork belly bun so much. Geisha cocktail was nice but a little heavy on the rose.
Incredible dishes, and actually not that expensive for the quality. Get the eggplant, the tuna tartare and the beef short rib.. maybe avoid the salted caramel old fashioned (okay, but way overpriced).
Unfortunately in all respects feels like a copy of Chin Chin minus the good food. None of the items on the "Feed Me" menu except the kingfish is above average. The pork belly bao is esp overrated.
Despite the popularity this place enjoys, poor management of our booking and a disappointing limited menu made for a very average experience from our perspective. Won’t be rushing back.
