- Jon GiuntaSeptember 22, 2013Without question my favorite hotel in Chicago! Top 10 in US! Amazing service, food, night life and rooms. Decor is a magnificent design of the old Ambassador Hotel meeting the new avant garde!
- Otel.comFebruary 1, 2013The hotel has a real chic style, with its monochrome design and confortable and modern furnitures. The rooms are not all so big but the lobby and the library bar will make you enjoy it!
- Jon GiuntaMarch 16, 2014TOP 5 Hotels I've stayed at in US! Architecturally perfect! Great service. Gorgeous, convenient neighborhood. I Go once a year for 3-4 days every Summer!

- AFAR MediaAugust 4, 2014Public epitomizes Schrager’s new brand of pared-down sophistication. A giant cluster of resin globe lights brightens the all-neutral restaurant, and there’s no velvet rope in sight. Read more
- ChicagoistAugust 1, 2014The Library at Public is where you go at night when you don’t feel like reading but want to stretch your legs in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine in hand. Read more
- Headlines and HeroesNovember 13, 2014Each one of Public Chicago’s 285 spacious rooms has beautiful views of the city, plus luxurious amenities like 42” flat screens, complimentary high-speed, wireless Internet access.
- Simply beautiful. Great for people who like contemporary design. Outstanding service and amenities. Location is subpar to Trump but don't let that stop you. The PUBLIC is hot (for now)
- Joanne Tosti-VaseyJuly 13, 2018I stayed here on an Amtrak voucher after missing my once a day train connection. With no notice from Amtrak. They quickly met my hypoallergenic room needs, & gave me a complimentary gift of prosecco!
- Aaron KohnDecember 12, 2016Service is amazing. And if you care about design, then you're in for a treat.
- Travel + LeisureFebruary 21, 2014Ian Schrager’s Chicago hotel remains a local favorite: the revamped Pump Room restaurant is one of the hottest tables in town.
- Travel + LeisureMay 29, 2012Head to Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Pump Room for reasonably priced farm-to table fare. For dessert, get the salted-caramel ice cream sundae—it’s unbelievably delicious. Read more
- Liang ShiNovember 24, 2014This place is simply gorgeous, from the lobby to the rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
- Sam ZenAugust 27, 2014Love the spicy whisky. Love how close it is to the beach and nice nightlife spots
- Haley TaylorJanuary 9, 2012Amazing staff, decor, great crowd, can't wait to return. Room service and "PUBLIC Express" menu is lots of bang for your buck.
- Lots of faux fur, candles, sofas and space. feels like you're in someones wood paneled basement circa 1978, but more stylish.
- Matt ThomsonJanuary 12, 2012The Library Bar just off the Lobby has the best espresso we've found in the US so far!
- HRH SAROctober 10, 2012#studio54 tonight for one night well kinda no basement to hang out to start no Andy Warhol but great costumes mines sexy :D #justsayin
- Jack McNamaraSeptember 25, 2012Super fun, modern hotel. The place turns into an Andy Warhol party at night.
- Daniel FerrucciSeptember 6, 2013Valet is a little out of control $52 a night, not really in par with other cities. But a very very nice place
- Madison Levin-EpsteinJanuary 5, 2013The Fried Organic Chicken is great and I loved the specialty sodas.
- Dickon IsaacsOctober 20, 2013Nice lobby area. Rooms are minimal but starting to show some wear. Pump Room club is loud at night.
- Recently changed ownership from the public hotel. Desperate need of some renovations. Carpets are dingy. Not a bad place but needs some love.
- Walked in on a Thursday night at 8pm and the whole main lobby/bar was hopping with people.
- Nicole HeringMarch 20, 2014I've stayed in about 20 different Chicago hotels over the past 5 years. This one is by and far one of the best. Free wifi, free access to David Barton, amazing dining, bar and coffee and dope staff.
- Brent is the BEST server in all of Chicago hands down!
- Catherine SchneiderJune 6, 2013Don't order room service. $30 for a cup of coffee, oatmeal in a cardboard cup, banana, and a slice of something with artificial fruit filling that was called a scone. Delivered in a brown bag.
- Emily BakerJanuary 25, 2012Fun deconstructed experience- Expect black dress waitresses w/high heels and some interesting cocktails
- Lisa Harper CarterApril 7, 2016As a hotel, meh. Great service and rooms are okay. Great bars on ground floor though!
- Jacynte Le Roux KeithOctober 21, 2011Must order the tuna tartare. Coolest place In Chicago right now.. Opened a week or so ago.
- Don't expect to get any sleep - the curtains are see-through and the bed is too close to the floor. The temperature is also difficult to control. 😵😴😢
- Jonathan LinOctober 20, 2013Elevators are really slow. Make sure you leave yourself plenty if time if you need to be somewhere.
- Madison Levin-EpsteinJanuary 5, 2013Stayed here for my cousin's wedding, I'd highly recommend this place!
- Public Express late night is abysmal. Avoid at all costs. It's akin to the premade sandwiches at second rate airports. The Pump Room however, is phenomenal.
- Heather GMarch 15, 2012TV satellite must be messed up, very annoying. But hotel is amazing otherwise.
