Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. An evanescent light pink color, with shiny salmony hints. Delicate bubbles, which quickly form a steady, creamy flow. Tropical and floral aromas highlight the entry of this classic Trefethen Chardonnay. Honeysuckle, apple, pear and lemon zest fill the palate. The cooler growing season and longer hang-times gave us very even ripening on the vine and thus produced a rich, well-balanced wine with bright acidity and a slight stony mineral finish.

This Sonoma white wine's fruit aromas of green apple, lime and pineapple are complemented with touches of nougat, caramel and Sonoma-Cutrer's signature minerality. A crisp Chardonnay true to the Russian River Ranches style, the wine is elegant and balanced with a nice, bright acidity. Zesty flavors of lime, lemon drop and grapefruit are accented with peach notes and a nice barrel spice. This California Chardonnay has a light, creamy mid-palate flow to a citrus acidity for a long, lingering after palate. OBSERVATIONS ON A VINTAGE After two challenging years in the vineyard, Mother Nature blessed the 2012 harvest with an abundance of both quantity and quality. The season started with less than average rainfall, but perfect spring weather arrived in April and led to a nice, even bloom, setting the stage for an outstanding year. The perfect weather continued throughout the summer with no extreme weather events. The harvest began on September 5, and the beautiful cool evenings and warm sunny afternoons provided ideal condi - tions that allowed the fruit to ripen slowly. Several nice hot days at the very end of September got everything moving along and we finished the harvest on October 18. The fruit had a classic golden hue, lovely flavors and nice acidity. Quality and quantity don't often go hand in hand, but the season provided the winemakers with an abundance of outstanding fruit from which to craft this 2012 vintage. ON THE VINEYARD Russian River Ranches is a cuvée of distinct vineyard lots, each contributing its own personality to the wine. Our Vine Hill Vineyard whose quickly-draining, sandy, clay soils produce smaller berries, lower yields and add concentrated flavors to the blend. Les Pierres adds notes of lime & minerality. The younger Owsley Ranch stands closest to the Pacific Ocean and is influenced by cooling fog that adds a depth of character to the wine. At Shiloh in the Mayacamas Range, the warmer climate produces riper, more full-bodied fruit. The Kent Vineyard with its cool morning allows for extended maturation and adds backbone and elegance. And the Cutrer Vineyard, with its collection of unique, small vineyard blocks, provides us a spice rack of flavors. These vineyards come together to create a Chardonnay that is consistent from year to year and remains among the most coveted in each and every vintage. ON THE WINE Grapes were hand-harvested starting in the early mornings and then cooled down to 50°-55°F to preserve the fruit's fresh flavors and natural acidity. After hand-sorting, the grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed to avoid bitter tannins from the skins and grape seeds. The cool, clear golden-green, free-run juice was then settled naturally in tanks for a few days before heading to French oak barrels and stainless steel for fermentation. The wine was then aged sur-lies in a mixture of new and used French oak barrels. Fruit aromas of green apple, lime and pineapple are complemented with touches of nougat, caramel and Sonoma-Cutrer's signature minerality. True to the Russian River Ranches style, the wine is elegant and balanced with a nice, bright acidity. Crisp and zesty flavors of lime, lemon drop and grapefruit are accented with peach notes and a nice barrel spice. A light, creamy mid-palate flows to a crisp, citrus acidity for a long, lingering after palate. Les Noisetiers is a combination of specific lots from vineyards situated in far western Sonoma County. There is an inherent mineral tone in the lots from these vineyards planted in coastal sandy gold ridge soils. An austere, low pH, high acid wine, the character Les Noisetiers is driven by mineral characters as opposed to fruit, and is a natural compliment to food. Vibrant green-yellow. Distinct nose of minerals, earth, and refined noble sulfides. A medium-weight, balanced presence on the palate, tightly wound around a resounding acid core, that carries through and beyond the crisp, yet lengthy and lasting finish.

It was slow to start, with heavy spring rains and a cool summer. A summer long on sweaters and short on, well, shorts. The "normal" start of the harvest season was delayed by two to three weeks in most vineyards. Mother Nature brought us a heat spell in late August, followed by another which, after a much longer time on the vine than most years, resulted in a rather compact harvest with white and red grapes coming in from the vineyards in tight succession. The slow grape maturity of the 2012 vintage aptly suited our Stag's Leap Wine Cellars house style, creating wines with great extraction and fuller flavors at lower alcohol levels. This Napa Valley Chardonnay offers pleasing aromas of lightly-spiced Golden Delicious apples and vanilla wafers along with citrus notes of tangerine and lemon. The wine is deep red in color and is bursting with bright red fruits like raspberry and bing cherry with hints of spicy orange rind, white pepper and sage on the nose. The palate delivers silky berry flavors balanced nicely by bright acidity and ripe tannins. The wine was allowed to age in French Oak barrels (30% new oak) for 10 months where it gained concentration and picked up hints of vanilla and anise.

Row Eleven makes three different Pinot Noirs. Our Santa Maria and Russian River wines are a study in the relationship of appellation to clone to soil. Vinas 3 is a blend of Sonoma, Santa Barbara and Monterey vineyards. It is about Pinot Noir itself, and less about any particular region or vineyard. Crisper in acid, rich in cherry pie flavors, lower in alcohol. Enjoy New World with a nod to the Old. Vinas 3 makes good on our contract.

Fruit, flowers, spice, mineral and earth; this wine exhibits all of these elements both aromatically and in the form of flavor. Red fruits are abundant on the nose - currants and marionberry, cherry and pomegranate, which turn towards raspberry, blueberry and boysenberry on the palate. There are violets and sweet peas, if one chooses to find them, nestled against cinnamon stick, gingerbread, clean stones and fresh turned earth. This wine is vibrant, confectionary and layered with a freshness and mineral quality, shaped by clean lines and a lingering, persistent finish.

The 2011 Nobilo Icon Pinot Noir is dark ruby red. Spicy notes come to the fore immediately. Lifted aromas of raspberry, cherry, and blackberry. Rich fruitcake and spicy toasty oak flavors with fine tannins. The palate is generous and balanced with excellent length. Made with 100% Pinot Noir. Perfect with rack of lamb and also excellent with venison dishes.

Moderately deep reddish-purple color in the glass. Fresh and vibrant perfume of purple berry compote, plum reduction sauce and hibiscus tea, offering displaying more intensity over time in the glass. This wine offers flavors of blackberries, Hoison sauce in perfect balance with refined tannins and vital acidity. The purity of the fruit really grabs your attention as it unfolds in layers across the palate. The mouth feel is velvety, the oak is beautifully integrated, and there is very impressive length on the fruit-laden finish and a step up in pleasure from the Southing bottling. Honed to go the distance in the cellar." (11/2011) The Sea Smoke "Ten" gets its name for the 10 clones of Pinot Noir from the Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard that are used to create this bottling. The 2009 was aged entirely in French oak--65% new--for 16 months. The barrels impart spice to this intense Pinot Noir. Darker in color and character than the "Southing" bottling, this Pinot is for fans of a more decadent style. It seduces with chocolate, blueberry and cassis fruit, with subtler lavender tones and firm, but fully ripe tannins

Garnet in color with aromas of raspberries, cedar, leather and exotic spices, the wine's berry and cherry flavors are framed by soft tannins and continue throughout its on the lingering finish. Grapes for this wine, as in previous years, were sourced from throughout the Willamette, Umpqua, Rogue and Walla Walla Valleys, creating a truly Oregon blend.

The 2011 Cherry Pie Pinot Noir is deep and concentrated. It shows tons of textural richness in its sweet candied red fruit, there is no shortage of lush overt fruit this year. Clearly this wine will be very hard to resist and pairs well with a very large range of foods. We drink a lot of it before, during and after meals. It never tires the palate. Enjoy!

If Oregon's beauty could be captured in a bottle, it might be found in Erath's 2011 Estate Selection Pinot Noir. Harmonious plum flavors are accented with blackberry and cola from blending in both Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, which additionally added a bit of grip to the mid-palate. Wonderful vanilla, roasted nut and caramel oak flavors truly complement all the beautiful rich cherry fruit. With a bit of coaxing, this youthful Merlot will reveal red cherry jam layered with vanilla crème caramel and spicy cinnamon. With concentrated aromas of cassis, cherry, cedar, red rose petal and tobacco, this wine's complexity continues through the flavors, which include red currant, cherry, blackberry and blueberry with a hint of vanilla from oak aging. On the nose it presents an attractive mix of red and black fruit of currants, cherry and blackberry layered with spicy notes of anise, vanilla and with a subtle cedar character from an American oak influence. Mpressive for its purity and elegance, our 2008 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet conveys the beauty of its Napa Valley heritage from the first sip. This wine is rich, yet restrained. It is evolving nicely with splendid varietal aroma that originates from a core of lush, dark fruit. Ripe cherry flavors and an undertone of spice are wonderfully integrated with fine-grained tannins, building to a lovely finish of great length. This Cabernet is a pleasure to drink today, and it has the overall balance to promise graceful aging for years to come.

A blend of 65% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, and 5% Molinara. Deep garnet red, intense dry grapes and plums with hints of spices (cloves and cinnamon) cherry jam and iris. Toasted almonds complete the finish.

It is supple and rich of texture, combining a full, firm structure with a long and subtle finish. 2008 was dramatic for the vineyards of northern California. Between the frost, rain, fi re, smoke, heat, and rain (again) , one had to pay close attention at every stage during the growing season and during the wine- making. The result: while there is not very much of this wine, we think it has been worth the eff ort. For the best vineyard sites and the most meticulous winegrowing teams, 2008 will be seen as a classic year in the Napa Valley.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 The Boxer Shiraz opens with tons of intense chocolate, vanilla and spice intermingling with an aromatic core of ripe and berry preserves. Very big, full and rich, it is so concentrated you could practically stand a spoon up in the glass. The medium-level velvety tannins hold through the long, slightly hot, finish.

The wine is deep red in color and is bursting with bright red fruits like raspberry and bing cherry with hints of spicy orange rind, white pepper and sage on the nose. The palate delivers silky berry flavors balanced nicely by bright acidity and ripe tannins. The wine was allowed to age in French Oak barrels (30% new oak) for 10 months where it gained concentration and picked up hints of vanilla and anise.

There is focused acidity and a tannic grip that carry the rich dark fruit character towards the mid palate, followed by creamy black cherry, dark plum and dried currants. There is intensity to this wine that is followed by a slow release of complex flavors and textures, leading to a long and lingering finish.

The 2009 PlumpJack Estate Cabernet is a testament to the impressive terrior of our estate vineyard. While many fought the inclement weather our estate vineyard on the eastern side of Oakville was bathed in sunlight. Classic PlumpJack aromas of black cherry, blackberry, sage, iron filings and anise are followed on the palate with primary flavors of Bing cherry, blackberry, mocha and hints of vanilla.
