This refuge for abandoned pets was founded in Holloway in 1861 by Mary Tealby, and moved to Battersea in 1871. Airedale Jack, a Battersea graduate, was posthumously decorated for bravery in WW1.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has been rescuing, reuniting and rehoming lost, abandoned or unwanted animals since 1860.
Open every day from 10.30am-5pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
