See Beth Schneider, L.Ac. For cat or dog acupuncture treatments. Beth has been treating my 16 year old tabby for almost two years (for renal failure) and the cat (Itty Bitty) is stable fat and happy.

Every veterinarian here has their own opinion. Make sure the initial vet is the person you stick with or you'll wind up paying an arm and leg for something pretty minor.
