Made from naturally withered upper leaf & tips, this tea has a stronger flavor reminiscent of lighter oolong teas. It is grown in the fujian province & harvested later than bai mu dan. Due to this, shou mei may be darker & more golden in color w/ a lot of black & red leaves, making a darker brew w/ more depth.

Translated from chinese, “bai mu dan” literally means “white peony”. This tea is made from silver haired tea buds along w/ one or two leaves. After being plucked, depending on the weather, the leaves are either sun, air, or low temperature withered, then finally basket dried. This process is done in extreme care so that the tea buds don’t lose their delicate white hairs.
