Love this park better then buschgardens in florida it has so much more to do. It is a lot bigger too with better food too. The only thing I say is that it is a lot of up and down walking be prepared.
They now have a system where you can pay a flat fee for a locker ($6 when I was there) and then use your 4-digit code at any of the lockers throughout the park.
Great place to go for a trip with the kids! Especially if you're military. We had a ball. We also learned that you can re-enter the parking lot with your parking receipt and watch the fire works.
What a beautiful place . Something to do for everyone. Loved the Italy area. Believe it or not but the best place to view the fireworks is in the parking lot. The you can just start the car and go.
If you love rollercoasters and beautifully themed parks, this is your place. This park makes you feel like you're in Europe indeed. It's breathtaking. Don't underestimate any of the rides.
Most ride lines on a weekday in late June were 30-45 minutes. My favorite was the Loch Ness Monster. The Sesame Street area was great for my 2 young kids, much less crowded in the late afternoon.
If you have little ones, bring a change of clothes and a towel for them so they can play in the water in Sesame Street Forest of fun. Check for show times too.
If you are a Virginia resident and you have kids under 6 or 7 you can get a Sesame street season pass for the kids just google it. Oh and The Irish stew is awesome.
BuschGardens has 53 rides, 6 roller coasters and 4 water rides all housed in 10 seperate European themed villages. At just an hour from Richmond, BuschGardens is a family favorite.
Everything is thumbs up. It can be an all day of fun or a couple of hours just strolling around shopping, eating or enjoying a show. Great for the entire family.
Really enjoyed my time here. The park here is HUMONGOUS!! You can conquer all of the rollercoasters in less than half a day. The verboten is my favorite.
Griffin is hands down the best ride ever (go first row!). The shows are really entertaining too! Ate at Oktoberfest, great food, though it was hard to choose between that and San Marco food!
Front seat of the Griffin is worth the wait. Be willing to go in a pair if there are more than you to skip a lot of wait as they try to fill up the front row!
To get on every coaster, show up when the park opens and do the coasters in this order: verbolten, dark castle if you want, griffon, alpengeist, loch ness, apollos chariot.
Do not park at the shopping centers and cut through the woods to get in (by the parking away from the park and by the brewery). The watch for the cars and they WILL tow your car!
Pass the exit to BG, get off at the immediate exit after BG. And get back on interstate, then take THAT exit to BG- cuts time by at least 30 min when trying to get in during HS peak times.
