- Tom WilliamsonAugust 25, 2013Store your luggage securely at the Luggage Lockers located next to the luggage carousel - perfect if you fancy heading into Cairns while you wait for other people to arrive on later flights.
- QueenslandSeptember 29, 2010Totally renovated & reinvented, this airport sports cool architecture and cultural artworks. Only 10 mins from the city centre, you'll be pleased to know the cabbies here are very laid-back
- Carmen MagarJune 2, 2013There's a beautiful outdoor garden with picnic benches here, great of you have a little time before your flight
- You still get dropped off on the tarmac for regional flights with a decent walk to the terminal. However, renovations with all the additional shops & seating areas are a welcome change!
- Sean WhelanMay 28, 2011Right up the end of the arrivals terminal is a fantastically positioned green seat. Long enough to stretch out on and go to sleep and right next to, not one but TWO power outlets for recharging.
- Paull YoungFebruary 2, 2014If you think this is a small airport, you've never been to a real small airport. Definitely pop into town if you're here on a layover.
- Coco OApril 10, 2012Lovely airport. Good coffee and everything you need. Try the coffee club for breakfast
- If you have a long stop blue sky brewery is pretty well priced for an airport and the pizza place is pretty good as well.
- Julie CanningOctober 18, 2010It was a long walk to the car hires, but they are all together so it is easy to go from one to the other to get the best deal possible.
- DhaniOctober 22, 2014The sun is good here. Don't check in too early. Not enough seats near the domestic check in counters. No free wifi in 2014, and nothing to offer for waiting areas.
- Miles MacFarlaneJuly 8, 2014Don't expect to charge your device before boarding. I only saw two, but I'd estimate there are only about six outlets for all domestic departure gates combined.
- Joyce SeitzingerJune 6, 2016Not enough charge points. You can find two on the wall near the row of seats close to gates 17-19.
- Sean GJune 13, 2012No free internet. Barely any power outlets - there's one located on one of the columns by the Australian Produce store, right next to a seat.
- Here's hoping that your flight does not arrive whilst there is lightning in the area because you will have a long wait for your luggage.
- Don't leave unattended car at Int drop off. Cameras have replaced the "move along" guy so you'll just get a ticket in the mail. Nasty.
- Take a raincoat in the Wet Season as the carpark and pickup & drop off areas don't have any covers.
- If you want to escape the humidity then you will be disappointed with the departures hall perhaps to get you to buy a cold drink. Come prepared!
- Glen WelsfordMarch 31, 2012Listening to the woman over the speaker trying to pronounce people's names is almost worth the wait for my connecting flight
- Airport is finished and great. Clean, spacious and not bad for a regional airport.
- Definitely the filthiest lounge seats of any airport I've ever been to... My clothes feel so yuck after sitting here waiting!
- Pavel K 🐎🐎🐎December 10, 2011Beware of QLD sun and humidity as you exit the airport. Slip, slop, slap
- Anthony YagerNovember 17, 2011When you arrive on a regional flight you have to leave the terminal to connect
- Zen BenOctober 7, 2010Stay at the domestic terminal as long as u can. International terminal has less food and shopping here.
- Alexandra EspinozaDecember 23, 2011Barely any taxis after 9pm, take a shuttle bus instead. Only $12 to the city centre.
- Not enough screens around showing departure and arrival information.
- BoyJupiterJuly 26, 2010It's small...real small. :o\ If you have a layover here, lower your expectations before arrival - and bring a good book and something edible.
