- Feels like the college dining hall for grown ups. Lots of the food is solid for the grab and go lunch. Salmon rice bowl with veggies is my favorite go-to.
- Huge variety of choices: sushi, cold bar, salad, soup, paninis, breakfast foods, coffee, bubble tea, etc. Also small items like steak sauce, peanut butter, chips, drinks, etc.
- TIP! If you are a vegan/vegetarian/kosher eater, you may want to read the ingredients on the vegetables. Chicken stock is just about everything....(There's a reason the Brussels sprouts were amazing.)
- Their flatbread sandwiches are fantastic. Salads are great. There are two checkout counters, so keep that in mind during the lunch rush.
- Essen is awesome. I used to hit up the Madison Ave location when I worked Midtown and this new location is even bigger and better. Hudson Square sorely needed this! Egg whites/feta/tomatoes sooo good!
- The deli/cafe has everything - from sushi, ramen, noodles, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and much more.
- Adam PalmerDecember 16, 2014I dislike how much I rely on this place when I'm working in the area. But it does have a lot of variety and the food is usually decent. Stir-fry/ramen stations are my favourite.
- Make your own salads are a great value: unlimited toppings. Everything else (esp. buffet) is overpriced
- Cameron GidariNovember 5, 2016Spicy roast beef sandwich is my go-to winter lunch. Don't let the long lines scare you, they are wicked efficient.
- K LaurMay 8, 2014Unlimited MTO salad toppings. Amazing. Found some rogue chicken and a crouton though-- beware if you have allergies or dietary preferences!
- DanielleNovember 8, 2015Hot & cold food bars are good options on those days you just don't know what you feel like. Everything is pretty expensive, but that's what you get for paying by weight.
- Sergio RodriguezDecember 6, 2013These places seem to be popping up around the city. IMO, one of the best lunch spots you can hit up during the work week.
- Michael JacobsonJune 4, 2014Everything you'd ever want for lunch can be purchased here. This makes it easy to decide where to go with co-workers.
- The oatmeal bar includes unlimited fruit, nuts, chia/flax seeds. So good
- It's basically the hot bar area from whole foods, without the grocery store. The food is fairly high quality and they list the ingredients on each.
- GavinNovember 7, 2015Quick Korean rice bowl for lunch is pretty cheap. Limited choices of Korean food in the area so this is not a bad option if you're in the mood.
- If you can't decide what to have for lunch come here. They have everything.
- Christopher JaynesNovember 6, 2013Breakfast burrito and ask to add extra bacon, your day will go so much better
- This area needed a place like this. Lots of options and seating upstairs.
- Nate TSeptember 29, 2015Prepare to use up all your decision making juices here--so many good choices
- Don't be afraid of the long cashier line. It moves quickly.
- Liam SmithAugust 5, 2015In this area it's the only close and not ludicrously expensive place. Standard hot bar with something for pretty much anyone. Still, not a cheap place.
- This place is awesome. Line wraps around Trader Joes style
- Stacy GeverMarch 3, 2014The salad guy seemed annoyed with me that I wanted a lot of different veggies. Oops. I guess you're only supposed to pick a few
- Romy RJanuary 18, 2014So disgusting. Warmer food is 3 days old. Was starving so grabbed a scoop of hard-as-asbestos penne and they wouldn't even give me a discount. Took one bite, spat it out, and walked to Chipotle.
- Rachel DobinDecember 8, 2016There was a giant BUG in my salad. I went back to complain and they did not care. I will never eat here again and you shouldn't either.
