- Daniel WeinbergAugust 6, 2019Really solid - I get the veg sampler, which is vegan. I've been to a few of the Ethiopian places in the neighborhood, and Ethiopian Diamond is near the top.
- If you are new to eating Ethiopian food, I recommend the E2 for the meat eaters and the vegetarian sampling for those that don't. Both are pictured here.
- Chad CurryAugust 11, 2014The veggie combo is a great way to explore dishes and it's not badly priced. Our kids love the njerra bread which is naturally gluten free.
- Emily SDecember 7, 2014This place is amazing. Get the Tour or Taste of Ethiopian so you can sample lots of dishes with your table
- Chicago Cab FareOctober 5, 2011Verified authentic by Ethiopian cab drivers. Go for one of the Taste of Ethiopia combos. Visit ChicagoCabFare.com for a full list of 50+ authentic ethnic restaurants in Chicago.
- Sabina KajtezovicNovember 19, 2012Food is yum. Order lamb or chicken with boiled egg. Lentils to die for.. try both Ethiopean and one Kenyan beer.
- Anne-Marie HodgeAugust 12, 2014The vegetarian sampler is excellent, and the "tour of Ethiopia" meal is a good value.
- Jessica ReynoldsApril 29, 2012If this is your first time here, yes -- eat with your hands. Use the breading to pick up meats and veggies.
- Time Out ChicagoSeptember 20, 2010There’s no shortage of brunch options in this town, but few offer doro watt, those addictive, ginger-kissed chicken legs, and yesimir watt (spicy, savory lentils). Read more
- Wayne KeithSeptember 19, 2011Truly Amazing! When your down south in Atlanta try Desta Ethiopian Kitchen you will also love it!
- Door tibbs without green pepper, sprinkled with lemon juice. It's my favesies.
- Tyler KamigakiDecember 1, 2012One if the few businesses where its actually kind of OKAY to use the typeface Papyrus!
- Mike LewisJanuary 10, 2010I am in love witht the "taste of ethiopia" veggie combo. It is 16$ well spent.
- Le WangFebruary 19, 2010My favorite Ethiopian restaurant. Love the doro watt and all the spicy tibs. Spicy dish not for the weak!
- Xavier MMarch 25, 2011Taste of Ethiopia was amazing, not sure worth $38 for 2 but great nonetheless.
- Jeiran HasanMay 29, 2016Food was fantastic! Disappointed with the mango drink, it was just ok, but the honey wine was tasty.
- order a Hakim Stout to stand up to the wonderfully spicy fare! :)
- Francesca CarolinaNovember 3, 2012Food was delicious-service atrocious. We had a quick question about the menu & the guy (owner?) actually said "I'm too busy to explain this," and walked away. The waitress later threw napkins at us.
- Chet FarleyJune 9, 2010The food is amazing, despite being written and described on the menu in Papyrus font.
- Matty HerzbergJanuary 22, 2010The food is good here, without question, but have you tried the hand dryer in the men's room? WOW!
- Nathan RuhlMay 3, 2013Awful service. Small portions. Food much better (and cheaper) at Ras Dashen. Skip it.
